TeamAwayday Case Studies

Examples of events we have designed and run:

  • A 100-strong government agency wanted to increase the amount of personal contact across the whole office. Our brief was simple - to get people to know as many other people as possible, in a stimulating and inclusive day. We designed an event at a major London museum, carefullyCautionary tales engineered to ensure that everyone had a chance to make numerous new acquaintances and work with them. Needless to say, the logistics were complex, and the event required considerable planning to ensure that it ran smoothly and successfully.

  • A senior team in a global merchant bank wanted a challenging, high-energy event that would combine fun with their desire to understand better the way they worked together. We designed and ran a half-day interactive outdoor problem solving exercise which took place within the City of London. The 'plot' required participants to follow the trail of a missing BBC journalist, solving clues, having clandestine meetings with shadowy figures, and working against the clock to find the key to the mystery

  • A group of scientists within a government department were concerned that they were working in isolation, and wanted to know more about what other groups were doing. We designed and ran a day of activities at Shakespeare's Globe to build better links within the group. This included getting teams to write their own (highly entertaining) versions of chosen Shakespeare plays to convey memorable messages about their current projects

  • A 20-strong team of civil servants wanted to improve their collective abilities to work and solve problems creatively. We designed and ran a one-day event that trained them in various team creative skills, which they then applied to current in-house problems that needed to be addressed

  • A growing IT company was relocating to new offices in South London. We designed a treasure hunt in the area surrounding the new offices, to combine teambuilding with a chance for them to explore (and get to like) the area they were moving to

  • The team leader within a Government regulatory body wanted to create a greater sense of team identity, and to improve communication in this geographically dispersed group. We designed a day of team games and activities based around managing tasks and communication, held in a relaxing London venue.
